Brennan Street Fire
May 27, 2008
A Brennan Street resident in Bradford was lucky Sunday night. The house she had been living in was gutted by smoke and flame on the day she was moving to a new home. However, no one was in the house at the time of the fire.
Vickie Leeman had been at the house throughout the day. She spoke with neighbors around an hour before the blaze broke out, asking them if they had seen someone running from the residence or anything else suspicious.
Bradford City Firefighters responded, along with ambulance and police around midnight Sunday night. While the blaze put off considerable smoke, they had the fire under control quickly. As fire fighters continued to extinguish the fire, they also turned their attention to adjacent homes in the close-built neighborhood. Fortunately damage was contained to the single house, and their were no injuries. Leeman’s two story wooden house appeared to be a total loss with heavy damage to the rear of the building, top floor, and attic.
