The Bradford Area Ministerium meets on the first Thursday of the month at 8:45, at the Salvation Army building on Jackson Avenue. The meetings feature organization of community activities, mutual support and information, guest presenters from community organizations.

Long Term Care Facility Schedule
Purpose
To enhance the church’s mission under the centrality of Christ, orientating new clergy to the community to the resources available, in mutual respect for the unique ministries of individual congregations. “United in Christ, we welcome others, grow in mission and care for each other and the community we serve.”

Our Mission
The Cross Walk
Held on Good Friday from 12:00 - 3:00
Walk from one designated church to another carrying the cross and conducting a brief service at each arranged location.
Thanksgiving Service
Community wide Thanksgiving service held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving
Hospital Captaincy
Orientation to the policy and procedure of Bradford Regional Medical Center in cooperation with the Human Services Dept.
Benevolence Coordination
Making an unified effort to work with community and church agencies to best serve the needy in our community.
Baccalaureate Service
Religious service conducted in cooperation with the Sr. Class of Bradford High School. Conducted the Wednesday before Graduation.
Community Religious Services
Provide a spiritual presence in activities and services in the community as the opportunity is made available. Such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, National Day of Prayer, Newspaper Devotionals
MICA Unit Spirituality Group
Working under the direction of the Bradford Regional Medical Center MICA unit director Dr. Roger Laroche and staff Dinelle Proctor to provide leadership in spirituality sessions on the unit.
Nursing Home Service Coordination
Enlist and Coordinate those interested in conducting services at the Nursing Pavilion and the Ecumenical Home Nursing Homes, Communicate with the facilities and those participating as to the schedule.
Clergy Interaction
Through monthly meetings (Sept. - May) Clergy are invited to participate in monthly meetings. (first Thursday of each month) The purpose is to integrate the clergy of the community through interaction with one another, service agencies of the community and God. Meeting location is set at the beginning of each year. Yearly contributions from each church is appreciated to cover the cost of ministry.

The Bradford Area Ministerium met April10, 2008 at the Salvation Army.
In attendance were: Brad Preston, Bob Brest, Larry Petry, Deb Weigner, Max Miller, Lynn Gatz, Henry Weigner, Dennis Swineford
After devotions and discussion the meeting was opened with prayer Brad Preston.
We decided our final meeting before summer break will be May 1st. Will hold election of officers for the coming year at that time. Bob Brest, Larry Petry and Max will be nominating committee and present a slate of officers.
Baccalaureate will be June 4. Bart Simpson will be speaker. Student officers will be included in planning.
National Day of Prayer is May 1st- Dave Bunnell and Mary Hauck are working on this.
David Stains will be teaching NT Greek at his Church this Fall. Applications are available from David at Evans Memorial UMC.
May 16 -17 19- The Salvation Army will be holding a Holiness Retreat with Major Antil.
David Stains raised the issue of the Ministerium providing Pastoral care for churches with out pastors. We decided we would inform all congregations when we write our annual letter.
Our Speakers were from Linger Longer Café in Allegany NY. Linger Longer is a Christian business combining a Café and book store. It has been in existence for three years. The feel they have had both an evangelistic outreach to the un-churched and a nurturing ministry for pastors and Christians. The Café has Coffee shop beverages and meals. There is entertainment on the weekends. In addition there is a Christian Book Store where Church supplies may be ordered.
