REFUSE AND RECYCLING NOTES
By Ordinance 2801: Refuse shall not be placed for collection earlier than 5:00 P.M. the day prior to the collection date.
In the City of Bradford, recycling is mandatory.
If you need additional information please call 362-3884, ext. 12.
The City has the right to refuse any items not in compliance with these regulations.
Newspapers, Magazines & Other Paper:
- Must be tied, bundled or taped -placed in a bin
Cardboard:
- Flattened, tied & NOT bagged - NO PLASTIC coated cartons
Clear Glass, Green Glass & Brown Glass:
- Rinsed out, NO lids, NO broken glass DO NOT put in bags.
- Separate clear from colored glass.
Aluminum Cans, Steel Cans & Bi-Metal Cans:
- Rinsed out-DO NOT BAG - Put in a bin

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2008: Pick ups of yard waste will be done on a weekly basis by the Public Works Department on the day following your regular garbage pick up. The leaf machine will be run the same day. Yard waste must be bagged or bundled in 4 ft lengths and contain no garbage.

REFUSE:
Items Placed at Curb as Garbage:
- Hard Cover Books
- Light Bulbs
- Florescent Bulbs (please mark bags)
- Television
- Couch/Chair/Mattress/Box Springs
- Wooden & Metal Furniture
- Toilet/Small Tub
- Carpeting (Cut into 4′ sections, bundled & tied)
- Paint Cans (paint must be dried & hard)
- Swing Sets (torn apart, bundled & tied)
- Scrap Wood (Cut into 4′ lengths, bundled & tied)
Items NOT Placed at Curb as Garbage:
- Tires/Motor Oil/Car Batteries
- Hazardous Waste (NOT even empty red bags)
- Liquid Paint
- Construction Materials
- Snowmobiles/Motorcycles
- Liquid Grease
- Propane Tanks
- Anything weighing over 40 pounds

- Trash Compactors
- Hot Water Tanks
