State Police at Coudersport investigated a Criminal Mischief incident that occurred Friday night into Saturday morning at an area off of Bean Hill Road in Abbot Township, Potter County.Trooper Travis Trimbur said unknown actor(s) cut several power cables for seismic equipment belonging to Precision Geophysical Inc, of Millersburg, Ohio.Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to please contact PSP Coudersport at 814-274-8690.

Saturday Nights Super Full Moon

75 View Super Moon At Cherry SpringsFrom the Cherry Springs Dark Sky Fund/Association – Although scientists around the world were saying that the “Super Moon” of May 5th was so insignificant that only a die-hard moon-watcher could notice the size difference, over 75 people ventured up to Cherry Springs last night to see what the hype was all about and they weren’t disappointed. After viewing a film of the “race to the moon” by NASA’s Apollo Astronauts, the group went out on the Astronomy Observation Field where members of the Dark Sky Team and Environmental Education Specialist Greg Snowman, gave them the opportunity to view the full moon through a telescope with a lunar filter (to reduce the extreme brightness of the moon’s light) and they were also treated to an excellent view of a crescent Venus and the rings of Saturn

Gun taken in Elk County burglary staff report, Erie Times-News RIDGWAY — Police are asking the public for help solving a burglary in which a revolver was taken.State police at Ridgway said someone pushed in a back door of a Gilloully Avenue residence in Ridgway Township, Elk County, sometime between Tuesday and Saturday night.The burglar then took an Arminius HW38, a 38-caliber six-shot revolver.Police asked anyone with information about the burglary to call the Ridgway barracks at (814) 776-6136.

Missing 13 Year Old Returned Home

State Police investigated a report of a runaway/missing 13 year old known juvenile on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.Trooper Derek Weaver said the juvenile from Pike Township returned home several hours after the start of the investigation.
